Student Led Conferences | Nov. 23 & 24

What is my child working on? How are they doing? Are they getting along with other kids?

These are all pretty common questions. It is important to remember that parents do not have to wait for Student Led Conferences to know what their kids are up to at school and how well they are doing. Checking Google Classrooms regularly as well as emails or phone calls to teachers when things come up, will keep you connected to what your child is up to at school. Please have a look at the information below to figure out how and when you can book a conference time.

Casino Volunteers Needed!

Hello Hawkwood School families! We are in need of volunteers for our Bi-Annual Casino fundraiser that will be taking place at the new ACE Casino on December 9 and 10. We are very lucky to have received a Saturday & Sunday slot! We still need to fill 32 volunteer positions... HELP!!! If we don't have these positions filled we risk losing potentially $65,000 in fundraising for Hawkwood School. Anyone over 18 can volunteer so please share this link with grandparents, siblings, friends and neighbors. We need YOUR help to ensure we don't miss this amazing opportunity.

CBE Fall Break

Seems a little odd to be writing about a “Fall Break” when there are several inches of snow on the ground. For the first time in recent memory, there is an instructional break happening in November.

Nov. 9 - Professional Learning Day
Nov. 10 - No School - Remembrance Day
Nov. 13 - No School
Nov. 14 - No School

On Wednesday, November 9, our teaching staff will be participating in a system-wide professional learning day around Indigenous Education. Students will return to class on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Have a great week!
