Principal's Blog - Week of Nov. 6th
Do Students Build Relationships with Food?
The answer is yes! Our families have lots of different relationships with food. It is often connected with our culture and heritage, connected with celebrations, gathering together or special events. But how does our daily interaction with food impact us? How can it impact our children and how they learn?
Our friends at Alberta Health Services have some thoughts on this topic. Take a few minutes ro read A Healthy Relationship with Food: How you can Support Your Child to see how you can help your child build a positive relationship with food and eating. This, in turn, will fuel their minds for learning.

When is Leaf Art More Than Just Leaf Art?
Our students learn in many different ways each day. One of their favorite ways of learning is by creating something. Thinking about something, planning how to do it and creating a finished product that represents their own thinking is a very engaging process for students.
Our grades 1’s have been busy creating Leaf Art. Beyond the fun and esthetic value these projects provide, they also incorporate many different learner outcomes from the different curriculums.
Science
- I can represent seasonal cycles and changes

More Than A Ticket - Opportunities for Students and Families
Kids Up Front offers Calgary students and their families various opportunities to attend sports games, concerts and other events through the More Than A Ticket program. This program supports students and families, who may not have access to ticketed events, enjoy exciting concerts, performances and sports games throughout the year.
Kids Up Front is connected with many community partners KUF agency partners who distribute tickets. Many of the KUF agencies also work closely with CBE to support students and families. Each agency partner has a designated “ticket contact", who is responsible for the distribution of tickets.
