Learning to Escape

How can you teach aspects of physical science in a fun and engaging way? Why, you trap students in a space and have them think their way out using their knowledge of different forces in order to escape, of course. They were not really trapped, but they did have to collaborate, interact, identify and experiment with different types of forces in order to find their way out. These aspects of the grade 6 Science curriculum take on a real-life feel when you are working and thinking your way through the mobile escape room set up by Escape City. When they created their own escape room puzzles, they also touched on aspects of computer science, including using abstraction to sort and extract relevant information.
