Sir John Franklin School Performance
Our gr. 4-6 students got a treat this week as they got to see performances from different groups of students from Sir John Franklin School. SJF School hosts the alternative Arts-Centered Learning Program. Our Hawkwood students got to experience a live performance from their band, learn more about their instruments as well as two different dance numbers.

Hawkwood School Read-A-Thon
Like most elementary schools, early literacy is a significant part of everything that we do each day. For the last several years, our School Council / Friends group has supported this work with their annual Read-A-thon.
This year’s Read-A-thon runs from April 3rd - April 12th with an overall goal of
encouraging our students to read for a total of 35,000 minutes.
You should have received a paper flyer earlier this week outlining the details, and they have also been shared in your child’s Google Classroom. This was a significant fundraiser for our Council / Friends group last year. Some of the prizes available this year included pizza parties, Indigo gift cards, gift cards for Activate and even Principal for the Day. The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 13th with winners being announced Friday, April 17th.
