Flower Pot Math in Grade 1
Are there families in Math? Are there ways we can connect Math, Art and Science into one project? Our grade one students wrestled with these questions during their recent Flower Pot Facts project. Part of the project included understanding how the needs of plants and animals are impacted by seasonal changes. Students also worked at knowing about fact families, number relationships and problem solving. This project integrated many learner outcomes from different parts of the grade 1 curriculum.
