Recyclables and Learning
What value can a bunch of recyclable materials have in the classroom? If those materials are contained within our Green Builder Cart, they can be very valuable. Students can demonstrate their understanding in many different ways including speaking, writing and or drawing. Depending on the topic, they can also show their understanding by designing, building and creating. The experience of moving through a design process, trial and error, prototyping and creating something that did not exist before, is a great way of developing design, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Thanks to Mr. Wilson for putting our Green Builder Cart together. Teachers can sign out the cart for use when they are working on a topic that has, or could have, a design component included in the task design. For more information, check out Makerspaces.com
