Apply by June 16 for School Bus Transportation

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2024-2025 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as the current school year.

Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how to create one.)

Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.

We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Note: Conditional ridership forms will be available after registration closes.

What Types of Things Influence Quality of Life in Different Cultures?

During a recent social studies unit, Ms. Colwell’s class examined this question. By looking at different parts of the world, they learned how things like traditions, celebrations, stories and practices connect people to their past and to each other.

The students studied the role of the elephant in Indian culture. They looked at how and why it is considered a symbol of peace, mental strength and power and how it was used in religious ceremonies and rituals in temples.

June is National Indigenous History Month

This month is an opportunity to honour the histories, cultures, and resilience of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Canada. We acknowledge the contributions of Indigenous peoples to our society, their enduring cultures, languages, and traditions, and their incredible resilience in the face of historical and ongoing challenges.

To learn more about what is happening in Calgary and how we integrate the Indigenous Education Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework into our everyday teaching and learning, check out the CBE Honoring National Indigenous History Month webpage.

Have a great week!
