Muffin Breakfast - Save the Date!

Our wonderful School Council and Friends Society partners will be hosting a muffin breakfast on Friday, Sep. 19th starting at 8:30 on our school compound. More details will be shared next week but mark your calendars and stop by for a morning treat. This is also the day for our annual Terry Fox Run, more details coming soon!

Student Personal Mobile Devices

This is a reminder for all of our Hawkwood School families that if you are sending your child to school with a personal mobile device, that it is required to be “away for the day”. This also applies to our bus students when traveling to and from school and includes things like iPads and smart watches. These policies are the result of provincial legislation that came into place at the beginning of the previous school year. Up to date information can be found on the CBE Student Personal Mobile Devices page.

Google Classrooms

In addition to your child’s classroom within our building, each year your child’s teacher creates a digital Google Classroom. This online space is the first point of contact between your child’s teacher and your family. This includes updates around current and upcoming school work, field trips, special events related to both the class and the school. These spaces are updated at least once per week and are the main communication centres between school and home.

Access to these online classrooms is provided through your child’s CBE google email account. It is important to note that since it is email based, access does not change when your child changes grades or teachers. They can use their same email and password that they used last year even though it is a different teacher and a different digital classroom.

Transportation

While our office staff can help with general questions around transportation, most of the information you are looking for can be found on the CBE Transportation Page. Things like registering for the bus, bus stops, pickup and drop off times are things that are specific to your child and can be found online.
