What does it Mean to Be a Friend in Grade 1?

Our grades 1’s are learning about Love, Kindness, Respect and Generosity. How can we make a friend? How can we be, or keep a friend? These lessons are tied into different types of learning tasks connecting aspects of Math, Science and writing, as well as our recent work learning about the Seven Sacred Teachings. Even monsters can help us learn about friendship. Thank you to our grade 1,s for sharing your work and brightening up our learning spaces.

These same themes were front and center as our grade 1 team,  along with Ms. MacDonald, presented a wonderful Pink Shirt Day Assembly on Wednesday afternoon.

Lost and Found Haul

Our Lost and Found is overflowing. What you see pictured below is not all of it. When you come for Student Led Conferences, be sure to stop by the Hawk’s Nest and have a look for something you might recognize. It is also a good time to remind families that if you put your child’s name on their clothing, it will usually avoid the lost and found bin. As we do not have the capacity to store these items long term, anything that remains next week, will be donated locally.
