Grade 1 to 6 Conferences Feb 27th & 28th (No Classes Feb. 28)

Booking Opens: Feb 16th – Midnight

Booking Closes:  Feb 27th – 12 pm

CBE Student Survey (Gr. 4-6)

Over the next few weeks, our grades 4-6 students will be completing the CBE Student Survey. This is an important piece of our data collection progress each year and speaks specifically to the Well-Being sections of our School Development Plan and the CBE Education Plan.

Hearing from our students around things like academics, safety and connection influences our school-wide and classroom approaches to instructional design, assessment and communication. If parents are interested in the survey or the type of questions that we ask, they can find a PDF document on the CBE’s Provincial Assessment & Reports page.


Language Arts - Beyond Reading & Writing

As part of the Grade 5 Language Arts curriculum, we invited Theatre Calgary to come to our school and lead our students through workshops in Drama and Stage Combat. Our students had a blast learning to create the illusion of on-stage fighting (while keeping each other safe!), working through some fun drama exercises and creating tableaus in large and small groups. 


Hawkwood Cultural Night - March 13th

Save the date! On March 13th, Hawkwood School will be hosting a Cultural Celebration. We speak often about the level of diversity within our school community and how we gather each day with families from all over the world. Details are still being developed but stay tuned for more information and how you can participate.


The Book Fair is Coming!

We are hosting a scholastic Book Fair the week of Feb. 24 - Mar. 3 in our Learning Commons. 

We will be open each day from 10:00 - 3:00 and will also include an evening block from 5:00 - 8:00 during Student Led Conferences on Feb. 27th.
