Family Literacy Week

Calgary Board of Education is celebrating Family Literacy Week January 26th - Feb. 2nd. We work hard to develop literacy rich environments in our classrooms but literacy is something that happens and can be developed beyond the confines of our school. 

There are lots of activities that families can do at home that support the development of literacy skills. Lots of them can be found on the ABC Life Literacy Canada website.


Grade 2 Travel Adventures

The grade 2 curriculum looks deeply into different types of communities in Canada and how geography can impact the ways of life in each. How are they different, why, and how are they similar? We all know that the best way to understand “place” is to go there. When that is not possible, however, you can still create “virtual” travel experiences that students get very excited about.

Their travels will take them from the Prairies, to Nunavut, to the Maritimes. During their stop in Saskatoon they spent some time building bridges.



Report Cards Online Monday, January 27th

Families can view, download or print online report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 students on Monday, Jan. 27 until May 30, 2025 through MyCBE.

Within MyCBE, families can also view student information, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades and attendance information. 

How is My Child Doing in School?

Report cards summarize and communicate student achievement at a point in time. In addition to the report card, schools communicate with parents/guardians about student progress on an ongoing basis in a variety of ways.
