How is My Child Doing in School?

Creating Northern Lights in Grade 3

The northern lights are an amazing part of our Canadian identity. If you do not get to see them often in their magnificent colours, maybe you can try to create them. Ms. Wishart’s grade 3 class was recently looking at different components of Art including colour, texture and value. By adding animals to their colourful creations, they also included the design elements of emphasis and proportion.

Music and Your Brain

Not all elementary schools have Music programs or Music Specialists. Our larger size puts us in an enviable position to be able to have both Music and Physical Education Specialists. This is not the case in most smaller elementary schools.

A quality Music Program, like the one that Ms. MacDonald has created, benefits our students way beyond what they are learning in the Music Room. Here is a short video that explains how listening to Music, and even more so, learning and playing Music, can have a really positive impact on your brain and other areas of student’s learning.
